silver dove

I'm working on setting up a very low-tech blog store - it will be up and running as soon as I can take pictures of all the clothes I'll be selling! Until then...

I'm really all over the place lately, inspiration-wise.

Photos from: Lula Scrapbook, vi.sualize, other spots that I can't remember.

gathering dust

This is terrible, I've never neglected this blog for so long without a good reason...I've just been so busy with school, volleyball, college applications, a million and one extracurriculars (all while trying to maintain some semblance of a social life) that I've left Idyll by the wayside for a little while. And during fashion week, too...such a travesty. Until I find time to post again, have some inspiration:

Garance Dore, Dutch tulips, the Milky Way, Lissy Elle photography, a reading rainbow, more Lissy Elle, a Paul Poiret sketch, random amazing photo, Dior 2010, Dior New Look, The Wizard of Oz, and my imaginary namesake.

dream a little dream

I've fallen in love with this fairytale-themed editorial shot by Eugenio Recuenco. I think the natural lighting and understated styling help translate the seemingly fantastic scenarios into believable situations. Recuenco somehow makes fabled characters like Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood seem like actual human beings, which in turn makes their stories a little more plausible. Using only a few photos, the man has made fairy tales a part of reality. And that, to me, is the real magic at play here.

flicked crystal

This is the last post to come out of my sleepless night, I promise! Here are a few of the images that have been inspiring me this week:

only if you're looking will it find you.

What a hectic few weeks it has been! I can practically feel the school year hurtling towards the finish line. Unfortunately, all my new responsibilities are starting to take priority over blogging. Until I get back on track, a picture post will have to suffice. I've been lacking in inspiration anyways...
